Fontana Lake Overlook 1

(previously called "Heaven's Gate". This mountain cottage was built from a feature in "Better Homes" magazine.  It is perched on a mountainside with a magnificent view of Fontana Lake, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Clingman's Dome. Larger groups combine this cabin with 3 bedroom "Fontana Lake Overlook 2", which is walking distance proximity.

kitchen

Your basic kitchen is appointed with all new appliances including dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. We also provide you with all the dishes, utensils and cooking tools you'll need. A gas grill is provided for BBQ connoisseurs (full propane tank included).

great room

The great room features the living and dining area with table suitable for seating 6 (additional seating for 2 at a bistro table in the kitchen, or there is an outside patio table for 6). The modern-rustic decor features mica sconce lighting, hardwood floors, and a stone fireplace. There is satellite dish and TV(bring your own music or listen to one of the dozens of digital music channels provided by digital satellite).  The dining area of the great room opens via French patio doors to a covered screened porch and deck, and the highlight of the cottage is the gorgeous view of Fontana Lake with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Clingman's Dome towering beyond.

Down a spiral staircase, you'll find a second great room featuring a 7' pool table and a second living room with a queen sleeper sofa and a home theatre system. 

sleeping accomodations

All our cabins feature both down and foam pillows as well as down comforters.  Each bed has a pillow-top mattress (or deluxe thickness mattress pad) and luxury, all-cotton linens.  Towels are provided for the base number of occupancy.  Additional linens and towels are provided for guests utilizing the sofabed (please note that we do NOT have a per-person-per-night charge for the additional occupancy). 

Main Floor: 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The bedroom on the view side of the house wakes up to beautiful Fontana Lake.  These bedrooms share the main level bathroom.

Lower Floor: Down a spiral staircase to the lower level there are 2 bedrooms.  The larger bedroom has a queen size bed and there is a loveseat in this room.  French doors open directly out to the lower level of the deck which features the hot tub. The smaller bedroom has 2 twin beds, ideal for kids or singles in the group.  This level also has sleeping in the pool table rec-room on a queen sized sofabed (linens provided upon request).
