Almost Heaven sits in the Almond area above Bryson City with mountain views, total seclusion, and an interior built around one extraordinary feature: a 100-inch HD home theater with Bose surround sound that makes the lower-level great room feel less like a vacation rental and more like a private cinema. It’s the kind of detail that turns a good family trip into an annual tradition.

The layout works beautifully for groups. The main floor is an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area with a stone gas-log fireplace, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a dining table that expands to seat eight. Two king master suites flank the main level, each with a private bath. Downstairs, the home theater area anchors a second great room with exquisite leather furnishings, a half bath, two additional bedrooms sharing a bath, and a trundle bed for kids. A stone path from the lower level leads out to the flagstone patio with hot tub and custom fire pit — the social center of the property once the movie ends.

Almost Heaven is genuinely well-suited for multi-generational families — Wendy brought a group ranging from 20 months to 58 years old and everyone was happy. The layout separates the kids from the adults without separating the group, and the combination of home theater, hot tub, and fire pit means there’s always something for everyone.
