About Sunrise Ridge
The name tells you exactly when to be on the deck. Sunrise Ridge is a single-floor 1-bedroom cabin in Almond — intimate, private, and positioned with the front windows and deck perfectly aimed at the morning sky. The name comes from what you see when the light comes up over the mountains, but as Julian found out, the surrounding nature and the easy access to Bryson City, the NOC, and Tsali make it just as compelling for the rest of the day too.
The cabin is a hand-crafted log structure with a warm, unfussy interior: a stone gas-log fireplace in the great room, leather sofa, hardwood floors, and king bed with pillow-top mattress and luxury linens in the bedroom. The bedroom has double doors opening to the great room and direct access to either the outdoor deck or the master bath. The kitchen has granite countertops and full appliances. Outside, a hot tub and wood-burning fireplace make the deck the social center of the stay — especially at night, when the only thing between you and a clear mountain sky is the smoke from the fire.
Sunrise Ridge is pet friendly and works equally well as a romantic couples retreat, a honeymoon destination, or a compact getaway for a small family. Julian brought an SUV and noted the mountain road warrants it — yet those comfortable with inclines in the mountains will not need AWD or 4WD as the uphill part is all paved.

Getting Here: The access road to Sunrise Ridge is a mountain road with some challenging terrain. AWD or 4WD is recommended — particularly for the climb up. Please drive attentively, especially after dark or in wet conditions. Exact directions will be provided after booking.

“Great stay, very cozy and in the middle of nature, but not too far from all the fun stuff in the different towns. I would suggest having an SUV if you plan on staying here — the mountains of North Carolina can be hard to get up without a vehicle that’s meant for difficult terrain.”
