About Buffalo Hollow
Half a mile. That’s how close Buffalo Hollow sits to the Deep Creek entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park — which means the trailhead is practically in the backyard, and the morning you decide to hike to the waterfall, you’re on the trail before most people have finished their coffee.
This rustic yet luxurious two-bedroom, two-bath cabin is one of the most distinctive properties in the Watershed portfolio. The all-wood interior is anchored by a massive stack-stone fireplace built by local craftsmen, rising to a cathedral ceiling where a mounted buffalo head presides over the great room. Leather sofa and easy chairs, hardwood floors, warm timber throughout — it’s the kind of interior that feels both authentic and genuinely comfortable. The rain showers in both bathrooms are a welcome touch after a day on the trail.
The wide covered front porch faces a view of pasture, pond, and mountain ridgeline — one of the better morning coffee spots in Swain County. At the end of the day, the four-person hot tub is right there waiting. And when evening calls for something livelier, Deep Creek Winery is just up the road — close enough to walk.
Buffalo Hollow is a place for people who want to actually be in the Smokies, not just near them. With the park at the doorstep and the Deep Creek tubing area just down the road, there’s no shortage of adventure when you want it — and no reason to leave the porch when you don’t.

What Our Guests Are Saying

“Everything was amazing and I really enjoyed it.”

Annie · July 2021
“AMAZING place!! If you are looking for a private retreat for your family, as a couple, or friends, this is it!! Very limited access to wifi/reception so there will be a lot of personal time. The living room/kitchen is absolutely beautiful. We spent a lot of dinners grilling. They made sure to provide more than enough propane to last us the whole stay. They are also very responsive through text since calls were iffy. There is a winery up the street, walking distance, that we highly recommend!! Very friendly pups there. There was a hot tub but we didn't use it.“
