About Whispering Pines Lakehouse
You pass through the elegant gates of Fontana Lake Estates and wind along wide, paved roads out onto a huge peninsula. At the end, Whispering Pines Lakehouse sits in a lush forest clearing with a perfect framed opening to the blue waters of Fontana Lake and the ridgeline of Great Smoky Mountains National Park beyond. The view changes with the season — impossibly green in summer, snow-capped in winter, blazing yellow and orange in fall. Every version is worth the drive.
The home is designed for a large family or a retreat of three couples. The master suite is on the main level. Two queen bedrooms are downstairs, along with a family room and a kids’ area with a TV, games, and a twin/twin trundle bed — a natural separation that lets the adults claim the upstairs while the kids have their own domain below. The open game loft above the main level has large windows facing the Smokies and a foosball table — a fine place to play, read, or simply sit and take in the view from above.
Outside, a deck with a hot tub sits under a canopy of trees. A trail from the property leads down to the private aluminum dock on 269 feet of private shoreline — calm, quiet, in a serene cove ideal for fishing, paddleboarding, and swimming. Boat rentals are available nearby for the week if you want to explore the full lake without towing a trailer. And the whole-home backup generator means mountain weather never interrupts your stay.

Good to Know
Getting Here: The main roads through Fontana Lake Estates are wide and paved. The final section of road and the driveway are level, well-packed gravel/dirt — straightforward for most vehicles but worth knowing in advance. Motorcycle riders: this property is accessible for experienced riders; the unpaved final section requires confident low-speed handling.
The Dock Walk: The trail from the property down to the private dock is approximately a 10-minute walk — steep and strenuous in both directions. It’s worth every step, but guests with limited mobility should plan accordingly. The cove at the bottom is calm, beautiful, and worth the effort.
Lake Levels: Fontana Lake water levels are managed by the TVA and vary by season. The dock and lake amenities are seasonal and subject to safe water levels. Check with us at booking for current dock accessibility.
Whole-Home Generator: Whispering Pines has an automatic whole-home backup generator. Mountain weather events will not interrupt your stay.
